(NKJV) Psalms 37:18-19 “The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.”
(CEV) Psalms 37:18-19 “Those who obey the Lord are daily in his care, and what he has given them will be theirs forever. They won’t be in trouble when times are bad, and they will have plenty
Shame
A painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior.
Or = A regrettable or unfortunate situation or action.
The enemy is trying to shame Christians, but you have to learn to rise above shame. Rom 10: 11 Let us us know that (…Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed) – ie if you believe Him, you will not be ashamed. You do not have to tell everybody who you are; let your fruit do the talking for you. But do not be ashamed to say what God Says. Do not be ashamed of being a Christian – talk about God in your daily conversations but do not be overly spiritual – DO NOT COMPROMISE YOUR FAITH. When you anchor your hope to The Lord, you will not ashamed.
Have you ever gotten to a point in life where you almost got disgraced and shamed? Guess it is never a good feeling at all. One of the most painful moments of life is when you suffer shame because of poverty or hardships. In the Psalm under consideration, David brings to bear the reality that in life, hard times will surely come. Even the world’s richest man on Earth is most likely battling with a serious problem that his money cannot solve. However, for the innocent who trust God and pursue righteousness, God Does everything possible to deliver him from shame. Beloved, I do not know the kind of hardship or shame that seems to be troubling you. Probably, because of lack of money, you are surrounded with huge debts. Maybe people in your society mock at you because you have been unemployed for years. That’s the devil trying to shame (humiliate) you.
Isaiah 54:4 – Fear not; you will no longer live in shame. Don’t be afraid; there is no more disgrace for you. You will no longer remember the shame of your youth and the sorrows of widowhood.
Rom 1: 16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” – the WORD is the Power, so when you receive The Gospel prosperity, Power, etc comes with it
Rom; 8, 1 – When you feel condemned, guilty, shame, etc-then it weakens your spirit & thus Faith Won’t Flow – that’s the enemy’s trick, to ensure your Faith Won’t Flow.
When you believe in Jesus you will never be put to shame. Pride & shame can block you from walking in The Presence of God and will keep you from The Kingdom God. In Christ, we are Made right with God. If you are born-again then you are none of satan’s business. He cannot come into your life unless you let him through condemnation, guilt, SHAME, talking filthy words etc. There are good things that God Puts into our spirit at the new birth but satan wants to use things like condemnation, guilt, Shame etc to put us down, so that we do not get those good out here to benefit other people.
Do not be a Christian who’s ashamed to be a Christian, & you are always trying to hide your Christianity. You do not have to go out & be obnoxiously religious (holier-than-thou) Christian, but you have to stand up for what you believe any do not hide your faith in God. Let your Faith be made known – do not hide the fact you are a believer, do not ashamed of the Gospel, Rom 1; 16
Don’t be ashamed of The Gospel: Believe that God’s Word is True. The Power of the Word Comes with Word; if The Word is Released in a believing heart, then Power is Released. You can talk to Jesus about everything, and you are never going to be Rejected by Him. He’s never going to Laugh at you, & never going to Make you ashamed. Nothing is too big for Him, and nothing is too little for Him.
Probably, you did not receive the parental support you needed to make it in life and as a result, you feel inferior to others and ashamed of yourself. Irrespective of the troubles, distress, and shame you may be suffering from, you can hold on to God’s Word expressed through David. I want to encourage you to continue living in righteousness. God will surely watch over you, deliver you from every shame and provide food for you especially in times of famine.
WHEN YOU PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD YOU WILL NEVER BE PUT TO SHAME – LEARN TO TAKE A BOLD STAND FOR GOD, DON’T BE ASHAMED – YOU CANNOT WALK WITH GOD & BE PUT TO SHAME
