Proverbs 13:2-3 – “From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things, but the unfaithful have a craving for violence. He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.” (NIV)
Communication is a process by which information is transferred from a source to a recipient through a medium. It may be verbal or non-verbal. Our Heavenly Father wants us to pay closer attention to verbal communication.
How we use our lips and the words that proceed from our mouths seriously affect our lives. The wise man, in the book of Proverbs, establishes that, the one who knows how to speak with wisdom enjoys good things. Also, he who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to his self-destruction.
Sometimes we talk too much, busying ourselves in other people’s affairs. Often, we end up revealing all our secret Divine revelations because we talk too much. Your level of wisdom will primarily be judged based on what and how you speak and act.
God wants us to learn how to talk. Many of us Christians still do not know how to talk. Your favor, breakthrough, and escape from troubles are all directly connected to your level of wisdom in communication. In the same vein, if you will be considered as an unserious person, a trouble maker, etc, it will all be connected to the use of your mouth.
Let the Word of God dwell in you richly, that your utterances will be full of the wisdom of God. If you will ever enjoy good things in life and be safe in life situations, you will need to learn how to use your lips wisely. Think deeply about these words you speak!
Amen
