Exodus 9:5-6 – “5. The Lord set an appointed time, saying, “Tomorrow the Lord will do this in the land.” 6. And the Lord did this on the next day; all the livestock of the Egyptians died, but of the Israelites’ livestock not one died.”
Psalms 102: 13 – Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.
SET TIME = TIME IN THIS EARTH THAT CAN’T BE CHANGED.
God still has a plan and designs meaning and purpose for people in life
In life, when the wicked are left unpunished for their wickedness, they tend to boast with audacity and arrogance that they can do what they want to do and go free. However, we serve a just God who wisely designates time by which He will deal with the wicked.
After all that Egypt had suffered due to the plagues, Pharaoh still hardened his heart in wickedness towards the Jews. So, God decided to release the fifth plague so the livestock of the Egyptians would die whereas those of the Jews would live. When all was set, God set forth an appointed time for action.
Sometimes we paint the picture that God is too slow to act, especially when it comes to dealing with the wicked. You will therefore find believers consulting shrines so they would deal quickly with someone who wronged them. Most of the time, we get temporary solutions with multiple problems coming along as consequences of idolatry.
It is important to note that, vengeance truly belongs to God and He has set an appointed time to move to action. It is a dangerous thing for God to set a time for Judgement. A careful study of the plagues tells how God totally shuttered Egypt, destroying that nation systematically. When God says that He will bring you vengeance, let your heart be at peace because He surely will.
God set the times for many significant events, for example, when Jesus was to be born, when the Gospel began to be preached, when Jesus was crucified, how long He was in the grave, and when the Kingdom would be restored.
Ecclesiastes tells us that God is a God of timing: “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). We need to understand the timings and seasons God ordains for our lives, ministries, cities, and nations.
WHAT DOES A TIME FOR EVERYTHING MEAN? It means you cannot do all things at the same time, or you can’t do different things at the same time. You can’t plant a seed and harvest at the same time. There is a season which is appropriate to plant a seed and a season to harvest. No two things can happen at the same time.
EVERYTHING HAS GOT ITS OWN TIME: In the Bible, “God’s set time” is a phrase that refers to God’s appointed time for events and seasons in people’s lives, cities, and nations.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn”
I want to challenge you today; do not be worried when it seems the wicked are prevailing. You continue to lift up prayer to God and remain faithful to Him. In His Wisdom, He has set an appointed time for the punishment of the wicked. Beloved, it is just a matter of time; for God has set time for the severe punishment of the wicked.
Why is God always on time? Trusting God often requires not knowing how God is going to accomplish what needs to be done and not knowing when He will do it. We often say God is never late, but generally He isn’t early either. Why? Because He uses times of waiting to stretch our Faith in Him and to bring about change and growth in our lives.
Whatever has been cheating you will be given to you; not because you have been good, but it is the set time by God – everything was pre-planned by God & it’s time. Now is the set time for you to see The Glory of God Manifest in your life. satan has been deprived of his ability to hurt you, so your days of struggle, poverty, etc are over.
God’s perfect timing is perfect. It grows our Faith as we are forced to wait and trust in God, and it makes certain that He, and He alone, gets the glory and praise for pulling us through – your set time is now. This is the set time, so whatever the devil has stolen from you over the generations will be returned to you, Amen.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I patiently wait on You to act on my behalf and deal with anyone who boasts in his or her spiritual or physical wickedness towards me. Thank You it is the Set-time to Re-imburse me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
