John 3:16 NASB – “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”
If the entire message of the Gospel could be captured in a single verse, it would be this one. It is the heartbeat of God, the essence of good news. It tells us of a love so wide, so relentless, so inclusive that it extends to every corner of humanity.
The Gospel is not a complicated formula. It is God’s rescue plan: His way of bridging the gap that separated us from Him. Our brokenness, failures, and imperfections meant we could not reach Him on our own. But God, in His love, came to us. Through Jesus, who lived perfectly, died sacrificially, and rose victoriously, we are reconciled, restored, and welcomed into a relationship with Him. That is good news worth celebrating.
GOD LOVES EVERYONE
God’s heart beats for all people; the ones society celebrates and the ones it overlooks; the ones who feel close to Him and the ones who feel far away; the ones who are full of faith and the ones who are full of doubt. His love is not selective. His love is all-encompassing.
GOD WANTS EVERYONE
Peter wrote, “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wanting any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9 NASB)
We live in a world that is often in a hurry, but God’s patience is deliberate. Every day He waits, He extends more grace. His delay in returning is not neglect; it is mercy. He longs for all people to encounter His love, to discover the hope of Jesus, and to experience new life in Him.
This is God’s heart: not that a few would find Him, but that everyone would have the chance to come home.
GOD SENDS EVERYONE
Before Jesus returned to heaven, He left His followers with one final command: go and share this good news with the world. This wasn’t just a task for a chosen few—it was a calling for all who believe.
We may not all be called to distant nations, but we are all called to live as bearers of hope wherever we are. At home, in workplaces, in classrooms, among friends and strangers, our lives are meant to echo His love.
The truth is, someone near you right now is longing for what you already have. Someone is desperate for peace, for hope, for a reason to keep going. And we have the privilege of pointing them toward Jesus, the One who satisfies every longing heart.
LIVING WITH GOD’S HEART
If Jesus is truly our Savior, then our lives should reflect it, not only in our words but also in our actions. Loving God means learning to see others the way He sees them. It means letting compassion soften our judgments, letting kindness interrupt our busyness, and letting forgiveness replace bitterness.
As we wait for the day when Christ will return, we are not called to wait passively. We are called to live purposefully. Each day is an opportunity to show His love, to share His hope, and to live in such a way that others can see Him in us. That’s why we are here. To know Him. To make Him known. And to remind the world that God’s heart is, and always has been, for all people.
Amen.
