(NKJV) Proverbs 23:19-21 “Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way…Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh…For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.”
(CEV) Proverbs 23:19-21 “Listen to me, my children! Be wise and have enough sense to follow the right path…Don’t be a heavy drinker or stuff yourself with food…It will make you feel drowsy, and you will end up poor with only rags to wear.
Guide your heart on the right way. Always keep your heart pure. You don’t have to worry about fighting your battles on your own but have a pure heart & The Blessing will do the fighting for you. Make sure your heart is filled with the Word; you are what you think. If you have discontentment in your heart against the Word of God, you will take it out on the people around you in the form of strive (James: 3, 16). Actually, the other person has not done you any wrong, but it’s the discontentment in your own heart. Keep your heart fixed don’t be afraid of what man can do to you, be focused on Jesus. Live by your heart (what you know) & not by your head (your feelings). Complaining is an attitude of d heart. In order for Faith to work it’s got to be in 2 places – in your heart, & in your mouth. Even though your heart is right you still have to follow God’s guideline for health, if you want to live for long.
How far you go in life will be determined by how your mind is set Don’t let the devil set your mind, let The Bible do that. When you become a Christian, you must have a committed lifestyle. If you are going to live The Right Way, you got to do ‘Right’ things on purpose Treating people right must be part of your lifestyle. Even to hate somebody is murder as far as your heart is concerned. The right way for the believer is in The Presence of God. In His Presence there’s fullness of joy (no worries, everything goes well, etc), & in His Right Hand are the pleasures of life. When we become born-again the right way for us to live is by Faith through The Word of God. We should live in a right way, like people who belong to the day.
Get into the Bible & live the right way. There’s is a right way to think & a wrong way to think. Many times we are thinking the wrong way but we have been thinking that way for a long time, so we think it’s the right way. If you get into agreement with God & think the way He Thinks, Miracles Will Happen in your life. When you believe the right thing, you will live the right way – Righteous; people tithe, go to Church, read the Bible, etc. Do things the right way now, so that they do not get worse in the future – If we stay spiritually strong right now, then no matter what comes against us we will make it through. There is one person that the devil cannot defeat & that is somebody who refuses to give up – No matter how many times the devil puts a bad thought in their mind they just cast it out (as The Bible Says) & go the right way.
Ps 112, 6-10 – when you trust God your heart is; fixed, you will not walk in fear
Prov; 4, 23 – You have to guard your own heart – it’s your responsibility to guard your heart, God is not Going to Send an Angel to come & Keep your heart for you.
Jer; 17, 5 – Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
Matt; 15, 12 – they things that come out of ur mouth are from your heart so defile you
2 Tim; 3, 13 – Godliness Will lead to persecution, but go about it the right way, & use the persecutions to develop
Every Word God Sends to us Comes from His Heart, just as a human father desires to see his children prosper in life. We on the other hand must receive with all humility, our Father’s Words which are able to Save our souls. God is Calling us to pay attention to words of wisdom. He is Saying to you, “Listen My child, and be wise, guide your heart on the right way”. Our hearts, as referred here, is the very centre of our being, i.e. our will and character. In other words, we must make conscious efforts towards our character formation. What we do and who we accept into our lives influence the outcome of our character. That is why our Father in Heaven is counselling us not to spend time with drunkards, and those who lavish time, and money, eating excessive meat as though life is all about eating and drinking. Such companions soon reduce to poverty and are clothed with rags. The first critical step to guiding your heart in the right way is to choose your environment and companions wisely.
Do you know that when you spend time with somebody for long, both of you pick up traits from each other? Choose your friends wisely. That is not to say that we must condemn such people. We must show concern for them and pray for their well-being, but that does not mean we should share in what they do. The more you spend time with people of wrong influence, the faster you lose resistance to their wrong habits. Do you have to drink alcohol because everybody in your office takes alcohol? Why should you stay around friends who will make fornication sound so easy and fun to do? Why hang around people who waste all their time and money gambling without any vision for their life? Why not surround yourself with people who will inspire you to honour God with your life, and be the best you can be? Guide your heart on the right way. Talk to yourself the right way; don’t talk about the way you are, but talk about the way you want to be, you need to have & victory coming from your mouth.

Heavenly Father, please Grant me Wisdom and discernment to identify wrong associations and to close doors on them. Bless me with the right people who will help me to be my very best in life.
