WE ARE JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST

Romans 8:16–17 “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God…And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together”.

What if you were given the chance to inherit the wealth of anyone in the world, who would you choose? Perhaps a billionaire, a royal family, or a powerful figure. Yet no earthly inheritance can compare to the extraordinary gift God has already offered us: to be joint heirs with Jesus Christ.

This truth is not symbolic or distant; it is deeply personal and spiritually real. Through the presence of the Holy Spirit, there is an inner assurance that we belong to God. We are not outsiders trying to earn a place; we are already His children. And as His children, we share in what belongs to Christ: His love, His purpose, and ultimately, His glory.

To live with this awareness changes everything. It reshapes how we see ourselves and how we respond to life. We are no longer defined by our struggles, limitations, or the opinions of others. Instead, we are anchored in a secure identity; loved, chosen, and destined for something far greater than what we see now.

Yet, this journey is not without challenges. Living for Christ often means making choices that go against the grain. There may be moments when doing what is right costs us opportunities, comfort, or acceptance. Pressures may come in subtle or obvious ways: temptations to compromise, to take shortcuts, or to follow the easier path.

But in those moments, we are invited to remember who we are.

We are children of a Holy and loving God. Our present circumstances do not define our future. Every challenge we face while staying true to Christ carries eternal significance. What may feel like loss now is not wasted: it is part of a greater story that leads to glory.

There is a day when faith will become sight. A day when we will stand in the fullness of God’s presence, experiencing joy and beauty beyond human understanding. The hope of that future gives strength for today. It reminds us that endurance is not in vain.

So, when the road feels difficult, hold on. When the pressure rises, stand firm. When the night seems long, remember that joy is on the horizon.

You are not ordinary. You carry a royal identity. You belong to God, and your inheritance is secure. Walk in that truth, grow in it, daily, and let it shape every decision you make.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for the incredible privilege of being Your child and sharing in the inheritance of Christ. Strengthen me to walk each day faithfully, to stand firm in moments of pressure, and to finish well. Fill me with hope as I look forward to the glory ahead.
Amen.
