YOU ARE KNOWN AND NOT ALONE

John 1:12 – “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”

Loneliness is one of the deepest aches of the human heart. We long to be seen, understood, and loved for who we truly are. The good news of the gospel is that this longing does not go unanswered. John 1:12 reminds us:

“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

To follow Jesus is to step into a new reality: one where we are no longer defined by our past, our failures, or even by the names others have placed on us. Instead, we are given a new identity: children of God. This is not symbolic language or wishful thinking; it is a spiritual adoption into God’s eternal family, with all the love, rights, and inheritance that come with being His child.

Think about that for a moment. Jesus, who lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and rose again, offers us the gift of belonging. When we say “yes” to Him, we are not simply agreeing to a set of beliefs; we are entering into a relationship where we are known, loved, and never left alone.

Being God’s child means that His presence is with us in every season. It means His love is constant when life feels unstable, and His authority covers us when we feel powerless. Nothing—no circumstance, no failure, no lie—can separate us from His love. Our adoption into His family is secure, not because of what we do, but because of who He is.

This truth changes everything. Every old label we carried: rejected, unworthy, forgotten, loses its grip. Every wound from the past, every mistake we regret, every fear of being abandoned, is met by the unwavering voice of God declaring: “You are mine.” In Him, our identity is restored, our security is anchored, and our future is filled with hope.

So, if you have ever felt overlooked, isolated, or unseen, take heart. You are not invisible to God. He knows your name, sees every detail of your life, and calls you His beloved child. You are known more deeply than you could ever imagine, and you are never, ever alone. Amen.
