Matthew 21:43 “Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof”.
When Jesus told the Parable of the Tenants, He painted a vivid picture of a landowner who lovingly planted a vineyard and entrusted it to caretakers. When harvest time came, the owner sent servants to receive the fruit that rightfully belonged to him.
Instead of responding with gratitude, the tenants rejected them, abused them, and even killed them. Finally, the owner sent his beloved son, believing they would surely respect him. Tragically, they killed him as well.
This powerful parable pointed directly to Jesus. He came into a world created to reflect God’s love and goodness, yet He was rejected by many of those He came to save.
Within days of telling this story, the Son Himself would be crucified. What appeared to be humanity’s greatest act of rejection would become God’s greatest act of redemption.
Yet this parable is not simply about rejection; it is about a new beginning.
Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God’s kingdom was opened to everyone who would receive Him with faith. No longer defined by privilege, status, or religious appearance, the kingdom welcomes every heart that responds to Christ with trust and allows His life to bear fruit through them.
The fruit Jesus desires is not produced by human effort alone but by a life transformed through His love. As we remain close to Him, His Spirit shapes us to reflect His character; love that reaches others, joy that endures through trials, peace that calms anxious hearts, kindness that lifts the broken, forgiveness that restores relationships, and faith that remains steadfast in every season.
This is the beautiful invitation of the gospel: Jesus creates a whole new world for everyone who believes. Our past failures do not define our future.
Our worth is not determined by what we have done but by what Christ has done for us. In Him, outsiders become family, the weary find rest, the broken are made whole, and the hopeless discover lasting hope.
Every day, Jesus invites us to live as citizens of this new kingdom. As we abide in Him, our lives naturally become a testimony of His grace, pointing others to the hope only He can give.
The cross was never the end of the story; it was the doorway into a whole new world. And everyone who places their trust in Christ is welcomed into the joy, purpose, and abundant life He freely offers.
