Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
ALWAYS WELCOME:
One of the greatest blessings every believer possesses is unrestricted access to God. Through Jesus Christ, we are not distant observers trying to earn God’s attention; we are beloved children welcomed into the presence of our Heavenly Father. This incredible privilege was made possible through God’s eternal plan fulfilled in Christ, who opened the way for us to approach Him with confidence.
Think about the difference between an employee, a visitor, and a child. An employee may respectfully request an audience with the owner of a company. A visitor may feel honoured simply to be invited inside. But a son or daughter does not wonder whether they are welcome or not6, they know they belong. They confidently enter their father’s presence, especially when they need help, comfort, or guidance. Their relationship, not their performance, gives them confidence.
This is the beautiful picture of our relationship with God. Because of what Jesus accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection, we are invited into a close, personal relationship with the Creator of the universe. We no longer approach Him as strangers hoping to be accepted. We come as His dearly loved children, confident that He delights in hearing our voices.
The apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians that God’s eternal purpose was fulfilled in Christ Jesus, and through Him we have “boldness and confident access to God because of Christ’s faithfulness.” Our confidence is not rooted in our own strength, goodness, or consistency. It rests entirely on the finished work and perfect faithfulness of Jesus Christ.
The writer of Hebrews echoes this wonderful truth by inviting us to “confidently approach the throne of grace.” Notice that it is called the throne of grace, not the throne of rejection or condemnation. When we come to God, we find mercy for our failures, grace for our weaknesses, wisdom for our decisions, strength for our journey, and peace for our anxious hearts. His invitation remains open every moment of every day.
Like a young child who instinctively runs into a loving father’s embrace after falling, God invites us to come to Him without fear or hesitation. He is never too busy to listen, never too weary to care, and never unwilling to receive those who come to Him through Christ. Whether our hearts are filled with joy or burdened with sorrow, His arms remain open.
Perhaps today you are facing challenges in your spiritual walk, education, career, finances, marriage, family, or health. You do not have to carry these burdens alone. Your Heavenly Father already knows your needs, yet He lovingly invites you to bring them before Him. Spend time in His presence. Pour out your heart honestly. Receive His peace, His wisdom, and His strength.
Too often, we struggle unnecessarily because we try to carry life’s burdens in our own strength instead of bringing them to the One who is always ready to help. God’s presence is never closed to His children. His throne remains a place of grace, mercy, and hope.
Choose to draw near. Your Father is waiting; not with condemnation, but with compassion; not with reluctance, but with love. Through Christ, you have been given the priceless privilege of entering His presence with confidence. Take hold of that privilege and discover the peace, strength, and grace that only He can provide.
