RECEIVING GOD’S PROMISES NOW

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (NKJV)

One of the greatest challenges believers face is believing that God’s promises are meant for today rather than for some distant future. We often find ourselves saying, “One day God will answer my prayer,” or “Perhaps my breakthrough will come next month or next year.” While God’s timing is always perfect, the posture of biblical faith is not one of endless postponement; it is one of confident expectation in the present.

Hebrews 11:1 begins with a powerful word: “Now.” Faith is not rooted in yesterday’s victories or tomorrow’s possibilities. It is anchored in the present moment. It trusts that God is already at work, even when our circumstances have not yet changed. Faith sees beyond what the eyes can see and confidently rests in the faithfulness of God.

This does not mean we ignore reality or pretend difficulties do not exist. Rather, it means we choose to place greater confidence in God’s character than in our circumstances. We believe that the God who has spoken is faithful to fulfil every promise He has made. Our hope is built on who He is, not merely on what we can currently see.

God’s promises are an invitation to live with expectation every single day. His peace is available today. His wisdom is available today. His strength is available today. His grace is available today. Every day presents a fresh opportunity to receive from Him with grateful hearts and unwavering trust.

Many people unknowingly postpone what God wants them to embrace by continually looking to the future. They keep waiting for a perfect moment before believing that God is working. Yet faith declares, “Lord, I trust You today. I receive Your peace today. I walk in Your strength today. I believe that You are already working on my behalf.”

Living with “now” faith transforms the way we pray. Instead of approaching God with uncertainty, we come with confidence, knowing that He welcomes us into His presence. We pray with expectation because we know He hears every prayer offered in faith. Even when answers unfold gradually, our confidence remains steady because it is anchored in God’s unchanging love and faithfulness.

This kind of faith also changes how we face life’s challenges. Instead of being overwhelmed by fear or discouragement, we choose hope. Instead of dwelling on limitations, we remember God’s limitless power. Instead of allowing delays to weaken our confidence, we continue trusting that every step of our journey is held securely in His hands.

Receiving God’s promises is not about striving harder or trying to earn His favour. It is about opening our hearts to receive what He freely gives through His grace. Faith is simply the hand that reaches out to embrace what God lovingly offers.

Today is another opportunity to trust Him more deeply. Today is another opportunity to receive His peace, His joy, His wisdom, His provision, and His strength. Whatever you are believing God for, refuse to let doubt convince you that His promises belong only to the future.

Choose to live with “now” faith. Thank God for what He is already doing, even before you see the complete fulfilment. Walk forward with confidence, knowing that the God who keeps His promises is with you every step of the way.

Faith is always present. God’s grace is always sufficient. His love never fails. Therefore, receive His promises with confidence today and walk in the assurance that He is faithfully working for your good.
Amen
