(NKJV) Romans 12: 21 = “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
(CEV) Romans 12: 21 = “Don’t let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good.”
Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. Our attitudes determine how far we go in life and how well we live our lives. The Scriptures affirm that God has Given us the power of choice. We have power over what we choose to do. Through the force of our will, our submission to God’s Word and the moderating Power of the Holy Spirit, we can respond to life positively. We can positively respond to negative things.
Your boss may try to bully you, or sabotage your success, or take the credit for work you’ve done, and you may be tempted to try to get at him by doing the bare minimum. I have seen many employees who are so resentful of their employers that have gone to great lengths to calculate the very least they have to do. They allow their resentment to limit the expression of their potential and kill their spirit of excellence.
When you’re insulted, you can waste your energy thinking of ways to revenge, or you can choose the alternative – you can forgive and move on with your life. You can be like your Heavenly Father, or you can be like the devil. When people provoke us with wrong actions, we can exercise two options. We can either respond in the same way as their provocation or allow the Holy Spirit to inspire a righteous response from us.
You cannot overcome evil with evil, but you only overcome evil with good, Rom 12; 21. People are going to dislike you for no reason but do Rom 12; 21 & leave them to God. If you have any evil situation, evil circumstances in your life – don’t sit down feeling depressed about yourself, nooo you can overcome that through reaching & helping others – the only way to fight evil is with good – when somebody does you bad to you, it is the devil. if somebody is doing you bad, but you treat him good, you will come on top (Romans 12: 21)
People are not your problem, it’s the devil using them, so when somebody does something bad to you, pray for them & also do more good for them to defeat satan. We do not get satan back by us acting like him, but by doing Rom 12; 21. There’s only one way to defeat the devil, & it’s found in Rom 12; 21. – in the mist your mess reach out & do good to people on purpose. You are The Kingdom: not only are you in The Kingdom but The Kingdom is also Within you Lk 17: 21, and in the Kingdom we don’t retaliate but overcome evil with good.
When people make you angry, upset, annoyed, etc; your response to temptation is the same thing as back then, when you were not Saved. Know that it is the enemy that is working through them, & so it is important for you to keep your peace so do what The Bible Says in Rom 12; 21. The best way in the world to get the enemy back for anything he does to do to you is for you to go out and respond by doing good to somebody, (Rom 12; 21 – Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.)
Don’t let the devil have control of your mind. You maybe born-again but your mind may still be full of bad things therefore you are always angry, upset, jealous of people, selfish, bitter, but you are Saved alright. Know that the state of your mind makes a big difference in the outcome of your life, so renew your mind with The Word of God. Do not be nasty to people because they were nasty to you, nooo do what The Bible Says in Rom 12; 21. Completely forgive all the people who have hurt you – pray for those people, because it is impossible to hate somebody you are praying for everybody – the best thing you can do when you have an enemy is to – SEND THEM GIFTS. That’s the power is to overcome satan who is trying to take you out, so that you are not worshipping God & you are not helping anybody
Even if the company you work for appears oppressive and insensitive, you must choose to go the extra mile. Go out of your way to treat everybody with kindness. If they are mean and resentful, you smile and pray for them. If they demand an extra hour, try giving them two. Do it with the spirit of joy and generosity of heart. If they try to break your spirit, just trust the Holy Spirit to give you the strength to remain firm. You may not be able to change them, but you must never allow them to change you to become like them. Don’t just respond to people’s actions against you in the same way as they acted. You are different. Choose your actions. Exercise the force of your will. Yield your mind to God’s Will. Allow the Holy Spirit to Moderate your actions.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I want to live as Christ Did. Give me the Grace to overcome evil with good.
In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
