Proverbs 10:9 – “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.”
One man in the Bible whose advice must not be taken for granted is King Solomon. This man is noted for great wisdom to the extent that his wisdom even attracted tourists. If Solomon advises us not to use crooked paths to achieve what we want in life, we ought to take him seriously. God wants us to be careful to walk in integrity in all we do.
I have come to acknowledge that in life, there are always at least 2 paths or ways to achieving whatever we want. If you want to be rich on earth, there are numerous ways to go about it. If you want to attain a good academic certificate, there are several opportunities to help you achieve that. If you want to be famous and occupy big positions, there are several ways to get there.
All these numerous approaches can be classified into 2 simple categories: 1. The Path of Integrity and 2. The Crooked Path. Most often, both paths work well, at least, to a point. The Path of Integrity involves been faithful, truthful, trustworthy and diligent towards a course you want to achieve.
In the Bible ‘crooked path’ – Designates a course of action that deviates from rectitude, especially deceit, guile, hypocrisy (Deuteronomy 32:5; Proverbs 2:15; Ecclesiastes 1:15; Luke 3:5;): The crooked path is also the spiritual and emotional way or road a person is traveling through life. It is a path and a life marked by deceit, fraud, fear (a lot of fear), and wickedness. The Crooked Path involves the use of lies, corrupt, dubious and evil means to achieve what you want in life.
Today, some people buy university certificates, some consult occults for power to make wealth, some use liars and false witness to demote people and assume their positions. All these are done behind the scenes, and they walk about like angels on a visit to planet Earth. God is assuring us that all people who adopt crooked paths to life will soon be found out and be put to shame. It is just a matter of time.
Walking on such dangerous paths makes a person uneasy. To have real peace in my heart, I have to know that I am walking in the right direction in God’s ways, not wasting my time in by-ways and blind alleys. Therefore, I need to stop covering up the sins I ought to be cleaning up.
Precious one, in all your aspirations, go by the right way acceptable in God’s sight. Usually, the friends that lead us unto crooked shortcuts to life are the very people who help to expose our hidden works. Child of God don’t disgrace your Heavenly Father with your corrupt acts. Don’t disgrace upon your family. Instead, secure your life by walking on the path of integrity, and the good LORD will rain blessings on your hard work. God bless you.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, please forgive me of all the times I chose to walk on crooked paths to life. This word is deliverance to me. Please grant me the grace to tread securely on the path of integrity and bless the work of my hands. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
