James 2 17-10/20-21 “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. [18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. [20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? [21] Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? – Faith Demands a corresponding action.
James 2; 17 (What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? – FAITH IS DEAD WITHOUT ANY CORRESPONDING WORK
James 2: 17 – work = Corresponding action.
Faith & work = believe + corresponding action.
Faith without works is dead ie; “Faith without corresponding action is dead.” Corresponding action is evidence that a person believes in Jesus in his heart, and says it with his mouth: ie Corresponding action that’s in agreement to what you believe – obeying God’s Voice is doing the corresponding action
After saying/confessing the Word with your mouth, then you need to take the positive corresponding action (of Faith). Faith is a walk, not just a talk. When our Faith is challenged that is not the time for talk, but time rather for action. If you are in a habit of exercising your faith, putting it into action should not in any way pose a problem.
Faith in action is, responding to a certain event or incident with a combination of the mind, emotion, and the willingness to do it – You need the right corresponding action (ie; actions that agree with your confession) to go with your talk, otherwise you get nothing
Cooperate with Grace to resist any bad habit –do your part – do the corresponding action ie; reading Word, confessing Word, hearing Word, etc, then – trust The Grace of God Believe THE WORD in your heart, say THE WORD with your mouth & follow it up with the action/s – THAT IS HOW YOU PUT FAITH INTO ACTION to receive The Promises of God.
Your words of Faith must have matching corresponding actions to bring you maximum results. Believe God’s Word, speak It out, take the corresponding action and receive the Victory, He has Given you. Here are just 1 example from the Bible
Mk 5: 35 – The woman with the bleeding issue took a corresponding Faith action – she didn’t just believe, she also did a corresponding Faith action: ‘…came in the press behind, and touched his garment.’
Faith must have corresponding action. Most of the time, the action comes after you have exercised your Faith and believed, and you are now standing on The WORD of God. When we believe, we must exercise corresponding action – The WORD Has to be believed in the heart, spoken with the mouth, and accompanied by corresponding action. That puts Faith on the job!
1. Your Faith is questionable if you have no ‘works’ to show. Not any works, but corresponding actions
2. A true believer goes the extra mile in sacrificing.
3. Abraham was justified and was a friend of God because he was ready to show his faith in God by putting Isaac on the alter.
Prayer
Thank you, Heavenly Father for your Goodness and Mercies. Grant me Grace to appreciate your Love for me. Grant me Grace to respond appropriately to your Love with works of Sacrifice as proof of my Faith in you. Deliver me oh Lord from every deceptive strategy of the enemy
In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
Amen!
