GOD WATCHES OVER HIS OWN

Ezra 5:3-5 – “At that time Tattenai governor of Trans-Euphrates, Shethar-Bozenai, and their colleagues came to them and asked, “Who gave you authority to rebuild this temple and to complete this structure?” They also asked them, “What are the names of the men who are building this edifice?” But God was watching over the elders of Judah, and they were not stopped until a report could be dispatched to Darius and a letter could be sent back concerning this.”

One of the greatest favours one can ever receive is when the Creator of the Universe, God Almighty, commits Himself to love and prosper that person. Glory be to God that in Christ Jesus, He has made it His plan to walk with us.

Back in those days when the Jews had come out of captivity in Persia, they proposed to build the Temple and restore their nation back to its former glory. Little did they know that great opposition lay ahead of them. Their enemies arose and influenced the king of Persia to issue a decree for them to stop work. They stopped work without even seeking the face of God as to what to do. God therefore sent His prophets to revive their Faith in Him and resume the restorative works.

Their enemies arose again demanding that they stop work. That time, however, the Jews were bold to continue the work because they were convinced that the All-Powerful God of Israel had His Eyes upon them. Opposition and challenges will always come the way of every glorious work we embark on in life. However, the righteous are as bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1). We shall not be easily discouraged by what man can do against us.

I love what King David said; “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.”- (Psalms 27:1-2).

All we have to do as individuals, family, and society is to ensure that, the LORD is our Light and depend on Him as our source of strength. Irrespective of what battles you may be facing today, sit down and assess yourself whether you are in God’s will. If you are, keep pressing towards the goal and God will melt away all your enemies and obstacles, Amen.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, please continue to keep Your Eyes on me, my loved ones, and my nation. May we benefit from the fullness of Your blessings as we walk in Your Will. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

QUESTION FOR MEDITATION

Can I really affirm with confidence that the LORD is my light and strength?
