JOB 14:7-10

(NKJV): v7 “For there is hope of a tree, if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and its tender branch will not cease. v8 Though its root becomes old in the earth, and its stump dies in the dust, v9 yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant. v10 But man dies and is cut off; and man expires, and where is he?”

(NIV):v7 “At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail v8 It roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, v9 yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant v10 But a man dies and is laid low; he breathes his last and is no more.”

(CEV): “v7When a tree is chopped down, there is always the hope that it will sprout again. v8 Its roots and stump may rot, v9 but at the touch of water, fresh twigs shoot up v10 Humans are different—we die, and that’s the end.”

HOPE = a positive expectation for God to Do something good in your life. Hope is very important for us because it can make our present moment less difficult to handle and bear. If we believe that our tomorrow will be better than our present, then we can bear hardships of today without many complaints. OUR HOPE IS IN THE LORD. Hope is a positive attitude. Always think positive.

Recently, I listen to some very successful CEOs in the world. One of the things that seemed to run through their deliveries was the fact that, they had lost everything they had on some occasions in their journey to success. They had to start all over again at some point but then as long as they still had life, they had hope of recovery.

Beloved, even to those in the secular world, hope can only be dismissed on the premise of death. In other words, as long as one has life, he has hope. Those of us in Christ know that by The Resurrection Power of Christ, we have hope even beyond death.

Job compared the human life to that of a tree. He expressed that no matter how dead a tree may seem to be, there is still hope of that tree budding again at the scent of water. However, for men, that is not the case. To Job, hope is for the living not the dead. His situation was so tough; he had lost his family, assets and his own health. However, as long as he was alive, he continued to hope that God Would Restore him Fully by means of Divine Recovery.

Precious one, if you are reading this message today, it means you have already qualified to have hope in life. As long as you are alive, you should have hope. Your company might have suffered severe losses. You might have lost a loved one or your job. However, do not be completely disgusted in hopelessness, for as long as there’s life, you have hope of bouncing back in life.

I want to inspire you today, do not give up or murmur in despair. Instead, encourage your soul. Once there is life, there is hope. God will restore you.

Heavenly Father,
thank You for the gift of life. I trust in You to restore unto me Your blessings. Thank You LORD, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
