NAHUM 1:3

(NKJV): “The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet”.

(NIV): “The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.”

(CEV): “The Lord is powerful, yet patient; he makes sure that the guilty are always punished. He can be seen in storms and in whirlwinds; clouds are the dust from his feet”.

Meekness = strength under control – it’s not weakness, or where you let everybody walk all  over you – you can do something, but you are waiting on God to be your Vindicator. A meek person is not a weak person. Nooo, that’s a strong person. On earth, Jesus WAS A MEEK PERSON. People who seem very calm and patient are often taken for granted as though they are weak. In the same vein, many people consider God to be slow to Act and too Merciful to Let the wicked go unpunished.

However, Prophet Nahum received a strong prophecy testifying of God’s Vengeance and Wrath on the wicked. Though The LORD is slow to anger, that does not reduce The Greatness of His Power in anyway. He Will certainly Not Allow the wicked to go unpunished. That implies that if a wicked person seems to freely go about his evil activities, it is because his appointed time of punishment is yet to be due.

Great is The Power of The Most High;it is dangerous to be an enemy of God. He Commands the whirlwind and the raging storm, the dark clouds and the dust. Let us not become too familiar with The LORD our God or take Him for Granted in anyway. Don’t take God’s Favour for granted. In as much as His Mercies are New every morning, His Attribute of Mercy Goes Hand in Hand with His Nature of Justice. Therefore, God Watches whatever we do: be it publicly or privately and He Will Recompense us according to our deeds.

Love and serve the LORD in reverential fear. Do not let your actions disrespect or dishonor God, for God Will certainly not Let the wicked go unpunished. Do not take God for granted.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, please Forgive me for the times I dishonoured You. Forgive me for the times I abused Grace and took You for granted. Help me to live for You.

In Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
