Exodus 8:25-27 – “25. Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God within the land.” 26. But Moses said, “That would not be the right thing to do, for the sacrifices we make to the Lord our God would be an abomination to the Egyptians. If we make sacrifices that are an abomination to the Egyptians right before their eyes, will they not stone us? 27. We must go on a three-day journey into the desert and sacrifice to the Lord our God, just as he is telling us.”
In our walk with God, we often confess that the journey is not easy. Most at times however, it gets difficult not because what God Said Was Too Complicated to understand but because of the complicated nature of dealing with fellow human beings. Sometimes when God Speaks, people come in to give us their alternative counsel.
God Sent Moses with a very Clear Instruction: “Go and Deliver my people from Egypt so they Would go to the desert and Sacrifice to their God”. Pharaoh felt he could offer Moses and the Jews an alternative offer; that they go ahead to make the sacrifice to their God but within the land of Egypt. He tried to convince Moses to stick to partial obedience; after all, was not The God of the Jews present also in Egypt and couldn’t they sacrifice to Him there. (Know that, ‘partial obedience is disobedience’).
Moses gathered confidence and told this powerful king of Egypt that what he was suggesting was not right. Moses made pharaoh aware that he (Moses) was not going to compromise on his (pharaoh) offer at all. He was going to stick to hundred percent obedience to what God Said. If Moses had listened to Pharaoh and made the sacrifice in Egypt, God Would Have even Rejected the sacrifice because of their disobedience and the Jews would have remained in slavery.
Beloved, it’s unfortunate to note that many good Christians have ended up not seeing The Blessings and The Breakthroughs from God simply because they, at some point in their journeys forgot about what God Had instructed them and began to heed to human alternatives. I have come to appreciate what I have termed ‘Satanic Substitution’: whereby the devil discovers something Good God Intends to give you and then quickly runs ahead to propose an alternative offer that is appetizing but eventually destructive.
God Too is Far Clever, He Knows about the ‘satanic substitution’ Before he Gives you anything (whatever God Gives is always Good), He Also Goes Ahead & Prepares The Right way for you. It is then up to decide which counsel you will take; ‘the sweat one which eventually leads to destruction’, or ‘the Godly Counsel which will lead to THE BLESSING’. The Bible Puts it Nicely like this; Prov 14: 12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
I want to challenge you to be vigilant and alert as a child of God. If God Gives you a sure Word, write it down, meditate on His Word and walk in it with full obedience. Reject any human or demonic alternative the enemy will propose to you. Don’t accept the enemy’s offer.

Heavenly Father, please Grant me The Courage to say ‘No’ to any satanic or human substitute to Your Will and Word for my life. Order my steps LORD, even as I purpose to walk in obedience,
