John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (NIV)
MORE THAN SIMPLY EXISTING
Many people dream of living a long life. While longevity is certainly a blessing, God offers something even greater; a life filled with purpose, peace, joy, and spiritual vitality. A life worth living is not measured merely by the number of years we spend on earth but by the quality of the life we experience in Christ.
Jesus did not come simply to help us survive. He came so that we could flourish. His desire is for us to live each day with hope, strength, and confidence, knowing that our lives have eternal significance. A fulfilled life is not reserved for a select few; it is God’s invitation to everyone who places their trust in Him.
Living well begins with putting God at the centre of our lives. When our relationship with Him becomes our highest priority, everything else begins to find its proper place. Our decisions become wiser, our hearts become steadier, and our perspective changes. Instead of being driven by fear, comparison, or temporary success, we learn to live with an eternal purpose.
A life worth living also embraces wholeness. God cares about every part of us: our spirit, soul, and body. He desires to restore what has been broken, strengthen what has become weak, and fill us with His peace even in difficult seasons. His grace enables us to rise above disappointment, bitterness, and discouragement, replacing them with renewed hope and unwavering faith.
Every day presents an opportunity to grow. Rather than merely counting our days, we can make our days count by walking closely with God, serving others with love, and using the gifts He has entrusted to us. True success is not found in accumulating possessions or gaining recognition; it is found in becoming the person God created us to be.
Challenges are inevitable, but they do not have to define us. The presence of Christ gives us courage to face adversity with confidence, knowing that He is working in and through every circumstance. Even painful experiences can become opportunities for spiritual growth, deeper compassion, and greater dependence on Him.
When we choose to live God’s way, we discover that genuine fulfilment is not found in chasing the world’s promises but in abiding in His love. His presence brings lasting peace that circumstances cannot steal and joy that remains even during life’s storms.
Don’t settle for simply existing. Refuse to drift through life without direction or purpose. Choose to embrace the abundant life Jesus has promised. Live each day intentionally, love generously, forgive freely, encourage others faithfully, and trust God completely.
A life worth living reflects Christ. It is a life shaped by faith, strengthened by grace, guided by hope, and filled with love. As you continue your journey with Him, may every day become another opportunity to experience His goodness, share His light, and leave a lasting impact on those around you.
Don’t merely aim for a long life. Aim for a life that honours God, blesses others, and leaves an eternal legacy. That is truly a life worth living. Amen.
