ACTS 2:25-26

NKJV “25) For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: 26) Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope”

CEV “25  What David said are really the words of Jesus,

“I always see the Lord near me, and I will not be afraid with him at my right side. 26) Because of this, my heart will be glad, my words will be joyful, and I will live in hope.”

Peter is explaining to a crowd how the murder of Jesus was unjustified, that Jesus Rose again, and that He is the Messiah God Promised. Life flows in such a way that as we grow, we tend to experience diverse pressures of life. These sometimes spring forth from our needs, dreams, and the unfavourable circumstances we encounter.

During all these however, there is a cause and a reason for our hearts to be filled with Joy. Luke recalled a statement King David made about his walk with God. In spite of all that David went through in his life, he had the courage to boast of Joy and gladness in his life. He referred to three unique parts of his being: his heart, his tongue, and his body. His heart, he said was glad; his tongue filled with rejoicing and his entire body engulfed in hope. What could have caused the most wanted man at some point in Israel’s history to express so much Joy in life?

Our passage reveals that David had a personal conviction that God always Went in front of him. God was Always at his right hand, and because of that he knew that nothing would shake him in life. The good news is that the same God who Stood with David is available and accessible today. Beloved, if we will fix our eyes on God instead of human beings and trust Him fully instead of trusting in our false self-confidence, we will also have a cause to rejoice like David did. Our hearts will be Delivered from fear and be filled with glad tidings. Our tongue will not be filled with complaints and laments but with songs of joy.

Our body will not deteriorate in despair but will live in hope. I want to challenge you today that: though life may seem tough for you today, don’t give up, throw in the towel and melt in despair. Instead, go before your Heavenly Father and cry unto Him to Lead you in the way. He will be with you and that will be your reason for living a life of inexplicable Joy and hope. Think about this!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I put my trust in You today. Please Go in front of me and Lead me in life. Please Stand with me so that I will not be shaken in life.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.WhatsApp Image 2018-11-03 at 21.06.15
