1 Samuel 10:22-23, NKJV “22 Therefore they enquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold, he hath hid himself among the stuff. 23 And they ran and fetched him thence: and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.”
On a number of interesting occasions, I have witnessed how some men literally run into hiding because their towns seek to enthrone them as kings. Most often, the reason is because they feel there are a number of idolatrous engagements they would have to partake in as kings or chiefs in their locality. This situation is often not a joke at all.
It is quite interesting how the first humanly anointed king of Israel sought to run away from usurping the throne. Saul, on the day of his official coronation was nowhere to be found. Apparently, he was hiding himself among baggage. Saul possibly had a good reason for hiding. His appointment as king was premised on Israel’s rejection of God’s theocratic governance system.
Obviously, Saul would not be happy about the condition leading to his appointment as king. However, irrespective of the circumstance he found himself in, the point remained that he was God’s anointed to rule over His people. Even if the premise was not the best, he had the opportunity to lead God’s people in the way of the LORD, as guided by Prophet Samuel.
God has endowed you with a great destiny, ability, and unique gifting. These are meant to channel you to the top in your God – Given field of influence. Every single person on earth has been Gifted with a unique pathway to greatness. Why are you hiding? Are you also among the baggage? Are you hidden and concealed? Are you overwhelmed by the present circumstances and are therefore thinking of quitting?
In the Kingdom of God, we don’t run & hide from nothing. All the provision you will ever need to accomplish the thing God has Told you do are ready. God will never tell you to do something, without giving you the Grace (and provisions) to get it done. When God Tells you something don’t bring It down into your academic senses, just believe it. When you to do the God-Given assignment, the whole of Heaven will back you up to its SUCCESSFUL conclusion.
When God Tells you something ‘little’ to do (keep in mind that anything God Says there’s nothing little about it) so if God Finds it necessary to Tell you about it then it is a big & an important thing in your life, so you need obedience (child-like obedience) do it. Just like a little kid, it may seem silly to you but child-like obedience.
When we disobey God in small, small things then we are creating a problem for our self that we are going to deal with later on in life. If we are not going to obey God in ‘little’ things, then chances are that we probably miss out on a lot of the great things that we would like to do.
I want to encourage you. If God Calls you to rise to a particular office, He will equally Help you to succeed. Only be sure it’s God Promoting you; if no, then it’s best to run away as many do when they are appointed to rule in idolatry. However, once it’s God calling you, stop hiding and accept the call; you will never regret it.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, please Grant me Grace to accept your calling and directives for my life. I choose not to run again. Help me LORD, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
