1 Corinthians 13:8 “Charity (LOVE) never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.” NKJV
Success in God’s Kingdom is not measured only by what we achieve, how much we possess, or how many people recognise us. True success also includes the kind of person we become along the way. One of the greatest forces that shapes our character, relationships, faith, and purpose is LOVE.
Agape love is not simply a feeling. It is a deliberate decision to seek the good of others, even when it is inconvenient. It chooses patience over anger, kindness over harshness, forgiveness over resentment, and humility over pride.
When we learn to operate in this kind of love, we begin to see life differently.
Love opens the right door
Many opportunities in life are connected to relationships. The way we treat people can either build bridges or create barriers. Love helps us build bridges.
It teaches us to listen before speaking, understand before judging, and encourage rather than tear down. A loving person does not have to agree with everyone, but can still treat everyone with dignity and respect.
Sometimes the door we have been praying for is connected to how we have been treating the people already around us.
Love strengthens our faith
Faith and love belong together. Faith gives us confidence in God, while love influences how we express that confidence towards others.
When we truly understand that God loves us, we no longer have to live desperately seeking approval. We can serve, give, encourage, and forgive from a place of security.
Love also protects our hearts from becoming bitter when things do not happen according to our expectations. Instead of allowing disappointment to harden us, we can bring it to God and continue walking in love.
Love changes difficult situations
Love does not mean ignoring wrongdoing or allowing people to mistreat us. It means refusing to allow someone else’s behaviour to control the condition of our hearts.
There will be moments when people disappoint us, misunderstand us, or treat us unfairly. In those moments, love gives us the strength to respond wisely rather than react impulsively.
Sometimes the greatest victory is not proving that we were right. It is remaining at peace and refusing to become the person our painful experience tried to make us.
Love produces lasting success
Achievements can attract attention, but character determines what we do with those achievements.
A person can have knowledge, influence, money, or talent and still damage relationships through pride or selfishness. Love brings balance. It reminds us that people are more valuable than possessions and that success becomes meaningful when it can be used to bless others.
Every day gives us opportunities to practise love: encouraging someone who is struggling, forgiving someone who has hurt us, showing patience when we are frustrated, or simply being kind when nobody is watching.
Let love lead you
If we want our faith to produce lasting fruit, love must become more than a message we hear. It must become a way we live.
We can ask the Holy Spirit to help us love when it feels difficult, forgive when it hurts, remain patient when we are frustrated, and serve when there is nothing to gain.
Love is not weakness. It is spiritual strength under control.
When love becomes the foundation of our relationships, decisions, service, and faith, we create room for God to work through our lives. We may not always get everything we want, but we can become people whose lives bring encouragement, healing, peace, and hope to others.
The gateway to meaningful success is not simply getting ahead. It is learning to walk forward while carrying love with us.
Amen.
