(NIV): v7 “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance”
(CEV); v7 “You are my hiding place! You protect me from trouble, and you put songs in my heart because you have saved me.”
Psalm 32:7 Identifies God as our Hiding Place: “For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory.” The Hebrew word translated here as “hiding place,” can refer literally to a secret location in which to conceal oneself.
In Psalm 32:7, God is A Hiding Place in that He Protects us from trouble. He Surrounds us with “songs of victory” or “songs of deliverance.” Thus, when we trust in The Lord, we can be reassured that our lives are safe in His Hands
When a person walks with God, he is not afraid at all of the storms and troubles that surround him. The reason is simple; God Surrounds him with Shouts and Songs of Deliverance.
Songs of Deliverance are simply testimonies of circumstances in which God Stepped in to Rescue a person from danger. David confessed that indeed, God Was his Hiding Place and He Surrounded him with Songs of Deliverance.
This does not mean, however, that we will never experience difficulties and challenges. But it does mean that when hard times come, we can have confidence that God is on our side, that our lives are ultimately secure in Him. No matter what happens in this life, no matter how it seems that God Has abandoned us, He is there nevertheless. The more we turn to him, the more we trust in him, the more we will live. To repeat, walking with God does not necessarily mean that troubles will not come your way. In fact, there are times you will have to face troubles because of your commitment to God. Our Christian Faith Does not excuse us from facing dangers. What our Faith Does is that It Assures us of our Safety and Deliverance in the midst of trouble.
Our victory is built on our testimonies of God’s Goodness and Faithfulness. However, how can we have A Song of Deliverance when we never encountered any trouble at all?
Even if troubles seem to hit you from the North, South, East, or West, do not be perturbed but be resolute in Faith because God Will Surround you with Shouts of Deliverance. You are Surrounded on all sides, for God is your Deliverance.
Dear Lord,
It’s a joy to know that You are my Refuge and Fortress. Father, Help me not to put my trust in any other thing as my source of protection, but may I put my trust in You alone.
