2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (NKJV)
There is a powerful force in the spirit of every believer: faith. It is more than a feeling, a positive thought, or something we talk about in church. Faith becomes powerful when we allow it to shape the way we live, respond, and move forward.
Sometimes, we underestimate what is already inside us because we focus too much on what is happening around us. Difficult circumstances can make us feel small. Disappointments can make us question whether anything will change. Fear can persuade us to remain where we are. Yet faith reminds us that our present situation does not have to determine our future.
Think of faith as a powerhouse. A powerhouse contains energy, but that energy must be released before it can accomplish anything. In the same way, faith can remain dormant in our hearts if we never put it into action. We release our faith when we pray instead of surrendering to fear, take the next step despite uncertainty, forgive when bitterness feels easier, encourage someone who is struggling, and continue trusting God when the answer has not yet appeared.
Faith does not mean pretending that difficulties do not exist. It means refusing to let difficulties have the final word. You can acknowledge the problem while still believing God is greater than the problem. You can feel afraid and still move forward. You can be tired and still hold on to hope.
Your faith can also affect the people around you. A calm response in a difficult moment can give someone else courage. A word of encouragement can lift someone who feels forgotten. Your testimony can remind another person that God is still working, even when circumstances appear unchanged.
That is why your faith should not remain hidden within you. Let it influence your choices. Let it strengthen your prayers. Let it give you courage to begin again. Let it make you generous with encouragement and compassion.
You may not realise how much your faith can accomplish through ordinary actions. You may think you need to do something extraordinary, but sometimes faith is simply choosing to trust God one more time, taking one more step, or speaking one word of hope.
So, do not keep your faith locked inside your heart. Release it. Live it. Put it into action.
Someone may need the courage your faith produces. There is a situation where your trust in God can make a difference. There is a step you can take today that you could not take yesterday. The faith God has placed within you was never meant to remain unused. Let it become visible through the way you live, and allow God to work through you wherever you are.
Amen.
