CONTINUE TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT

Isaiah 51:7  – “Listen to me, you who know what is right, you people who are aware of my law! Don’t be afraid of the insults of men; don’t be discouraged because of their abuse!”

In life, we tend to get surprised when a person who seems to know what is right, tends to do the exact opposite. It will be totally shocking for a high court judge to be involved in bribery and corruption. This is because he is expected to know better and live honorably as his profession demands.

Sometimes however, a careful investigation may reveal that they might have been certain threats or fears leading to the compromise in conduct.

Isaiah the Prophet, in our Scripture reference, gives a prophecy, encouraging those who know and stand for what is right to continue in their rightful conduct in spite of the insults and the abuse they may have to suffer.

It is unfortunate that nowadays, those who seek to stand for what is right, end up being persecuted. This has caused many Christians to either take a silent posture or compromise on their Godly convictions. However, God Almighty wants us to continue doing what is right in accordance with His Word, even if it will attract insults or some form of abuse.

Go ahead and stand for what is right, if your boss tells you to be either corrupt or lose your job. Maintain your sexual purity despite the mockery of perverse peers.

Will you deny your Lord Jesus Christ when you are threatened with death? Will you compromise on your well-developed moral values because of insults or enticements of men?

Our Heavenly Father wants us to be strong, and courageous and not be afraid of the reactions and responses of men when we seek to pursue His will and His Word. Let’s do right because it is right.

May we receive Grace, to stand firm in doing His will, irrespective of the oppositions that may rise against us. Amen.
