JUSTIFIED BY FAITH

Romans 5:1 – “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”

There are moments in life when we long for peace; peace with ourselves, with others, and with God. But true and lasting peace doesn’t come from human effort or perfection; it comes from faith.

Paul’s letter to the Romans is a deep and beautiful exploration of this truth. He reminds us that the foundation of our relationship with God isn’t built on our goodness or performance; it’s built on faith in Jesus Christ. Through faith, we are made right with God, not because of what we have done, but because of what Jesus has already done for us.

Romans 5:1 declares:

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This isn’t a temporary peace or a fragile truce; it’s a permanent reconciliation. It means that the barrier between us and God has been removed. Through Christ, our guilt has been exchanged for grace, and our shame replaced with acceptance.

Before faith, we were lost trying to find meaning and hope through our own efforts. But faith opens the door to something far greater: a new identity as God’s children. To be justified means that when God looks at us, He no longer sees our failures: He sees the righteousness of His Son.

THIS TRUTH TRANSFORMS EVERYTHING.

It means we no longer need to live under the heavy burden of trying to prove our worth. Our standing with God doesn’t fluctuate with our successes or failures. We are secure in His love because our faith connects us to the unchanging goodness of Jesus.

And from that place of peace, transformation begins. As we draw nearer to God, His Spirit renews our hearts, shaping our thoughts and actions to reflect His character. The process isn’t instant (it’s a lifelong journey of grace), but it leads us closer to the heart of the One who loves us perfectly.
Amen
