THE LIFE I NOW LIVE

Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

The Christian life is not simply about believing in Jesus; it is about allowing His life to be expressed through us. Christ gave Himself for us so that we could receive a new life in Him; a life shaped by His love, guided by His wisdom, and lived for His glory.

Galatians 2:20 presents a powerful truth: “Christ lives in me.” This means that our lives no longer have to be controlled by fear, selfish ambition, pressure, or the desire to have everything our own way. We can learn to trust Christ with our decisions, relationships, plans, dreams, and future.

Yet this can be difficult in everyday life. We may sincerely say that Jesus is Lord while still wanting to control the direction of our lives. When our plans succeed, trusting God can seem easy. But when circumstances change, prayers are unanswered, or life does not go according to our expectations, our true level of trust can be revealed.

Sometimes we want God to bless the plans we have already made rather than letting Him shape those plans. We may even become disappointed when He does not act according to our timetable. But surrender does not mean that God takes away our joy. It means trusting Him enough to believe that His wisdom is greater than our own.

When Christ lives in us, our priorities begin to change. We become more concerned about who we are becoming than simply about what we are getting. We learn to respond with grace instead of anger, faith instead of fear, patience instead of frustration, and love instead of selfishness. Our faith becomes visible by the way we live.

This does not mean that we become perfect overnight. It means that we continually give Christ room to work in us. When we make mistakes, we return to Him. When we are uncertain, we seek His wisdom. When we are afraid, we trust His presence. When we face difficult choices, we ask, “What would honour Christ in this situation?”

A surrendered life is not an empty life. It is a life filled with God’s presence, purpose, peace, and direction. The more we trust Him, the less we need to carry the burden of controlling everything ourselves.

So, let us honestly examine our hearts. Does Jesus truly have a voice in the decisions we make? Do our choices reflect His character? Are we willing to trust Him even when His way is different from ours?

The life we now live is an opportunity to show the world what Christ can do through a surrendered heart. May our words, choices, relationships, and actions demonstrate that Jesus is not merely someone we believe in, but the One who lives through us. Christ lives in me. Therefore, I can face today with faith, live with purpose, and trust Him with tomorrow. Amen.

SIX KEY TAKEAWAYS

CHRIST LIVES IN US, SO OUR LIVES CAN REFLECT HIS CHARACTER.
Our faith should be seen in the way we think, speak, love, and act.

SURRENDER IS AN EXPRESSION OF TRUST, NOT A LOSS OF FREEDOM.
We can trust God with our lives because His wisdom is greater than ours.

FAITH BECOMES PRACTICAL WHEN WE INVOLVE GOD IN OUR DECISIONS.
Before choosing our own way, we can pause and seek His direction.

GOD DOES NOT PROMISE THAT EVERYTHING WILL HAPPEN ACCORDING TO OUR PLANS.
He gives us something greater: His presence and wisdom as we face life.

A CHRIST-CENTRED LIFE CHANGES HOW WE RESPOND TO DIFFICULT SITUATIONS.
We can choose patience over frustration, faith over fear, and love over selfishness.

THE LIFE WE LIVE CAN BECOME A TESTIMONY OF GOD’S WORK IN US.
