PRAISING GOD IN THE MIDDLE OF PROBLEMS.

Psalm 34:1 (NKJV) “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

When life becomes difficult, our natural instinct is often to search for the quickest solution. Our minds race with questions, worries, and fears about what might happen next. We focus on the problem, analyse every possible outcome, and desperately seek a way out. In moments like these, singing songs of praise or lifting our voices in worship may seem like the last thing we want to do.

Yet, if you find yourself in a storm today, praising God may be exactly what you need most.

Praise is not a denial of reality. It does not ignore pain, hardship, or uncertainty. Rather, praise is a declaration that God is greater than the storm we face. It shifts our attention from the size of our problem to the greatness of our Saviour. When we praise God, we remind ourselves that His power, wisdom, and faithfulness have not changed, even when our circumstances have.

Throughout Scripture, we see people who chose praise in the midst of problem/s. They did not wait until their problems disappeared before worshipping. Instead, they praised God because they trusted His character. They knew that He was present, working behind the scenes, and able to bring good even from the most difficult situations.

Praise has a remarkable way of strengthening our faith. When we worship, fear begins to lose its grip. Anxiety gives way to peace. Discouragement is replaced with hope. We begin to remember God’s past faithfulness and gain confidence that He will guide us through the present challenge.

Storms are inevitable in life. They come in many forms: health struggles, financial pressures, broken relationships, disappointments, and unexpected setbacks. While we may not always have control over these circumstances, we can choose how we respond to them. We can allow fear to dominate our thoughts, or we can lift our eyes to God and praise Him for His goodness, love, and unfailing promises.

Praise is an act of faith. It says, “Lord, I may not understand what is happening, but I trust You.” It acknowledges that God is still on the throne, still in control, and still worthy of worship regardless of what we face.

If you are walking through a storm today, don’t wait for the skies to clear before you praise God. Lift your voice now. Thank Him for His presence, His faithfulness, and His promises. As you do, you may discover that while the storm around you has not yet changed, something within you has. Your heart becomes stronger, your faith grows deeper, and your perspective becomes anchored in the unchanging goodness of God. The storm may not have the final word: God does. And He is always worthy of praise.
Amen.
