Hebrews 11:1: “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.”(NLT)
There are seasons when our faith does not disappear, but it begins to feel tired. We may still believe in God, pray, read His Word, and trust His promises, yet difficult circumstances can gradually make our confidence weaker. When that happens, we do not need to give up. We need a faith refresher.
Faith is not just something we use when we are facing a major crisis. It is a way of approaching everyday life with confidence in God. It helps us look beyond what is happening around us and remember that God is still present, still faithful, and still working, even when we cannot see the full picture.
A faith refresher begins with returning our attention to God’s Word. What we continually focus on influences how we respond to life. When circumstances say, “This will never change,” God’s Word reminds us that our present situation is not the whole story. When fear says, “You cannot cope,” faith helps us remember that we are not facing the situation alone.
Faith also affects the way we speak. This does not mean pretending that difficulties do not exist or denying how we feel. Instead, it means refusing to let fear have the final word. We can acknowledge the problem while still declaring our trust in God. Our words can become a source of encouragement to ourselves and to those around us.
The fruit of the Spirit also gives our faith practical expression. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are not merely qualities we admire. They shape how we respond when life does not go according to plan. Sometimes the clearest evidence of growing faith is not what we say about God but how differently we respond to pressure.
When you feel spiritually tired, take a moment to pause and reset. Go back to God’s promises. Pray honestly. Fill your mind with truth. Speak words that agree with your confidence in God. Then take the next step instead of becoming overwhelmed by everything that still needs to happen.
You may not be able to change your circumstances immediately, but you can choose where you place your trust today. Faith gives you the courage to keep moving when the outcome is still unclear.
So, if your faith has felt tired lately, do not condemn yourself. Refresh it. Return to God’s Word, renew your mind, and remind yourself of His faithfulness. You may discover that the faith you thought had grown weak simply needed to be strengthened by a fresh awareness of the God you already trusted. Your circumstances may change with time, but your confidence in God can begin again today.
Amen.
