(NKJV): Ps 119:105 – “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path”.
(CEV): Ps 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp that gives light wherever I walk”.
The Word of God is Alive. Walking in The Light is walking in the Word of God, but you cannot walk in The Light if you do not know the Word of God, so we have to put the Word of God First Place in our life. Walk in the Light of the Word of God – when you get this Light into you, all your problems will disappear. The Word of God is the only thing that Can Deliver you in times of darkness/trouble. Put the Word of God in your mouth to create your world. Before you pray, find the Scripture that Covers your situation & abide in it because God’s WORD is Light, so if you do not have The Word of God in you then you are praying in the dark unanswered prayer.
Jer 23: 29 (Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?) – Nothing can withstand the Power of the Word of God; no obstacle, no matter its size. The Word of God Breaks down all the strongholds in your head due to all the pollutions you collected when you were in the world – Just keep hitting your problem/s with The Hammer of the Word: keep hitting your problems with The Hammer of THE WORD until you get a breakthrough.
Ps 119: 11 (Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.) – keep The Word of God in your heart so when sin comes you don’t miss the mark, because if The Word of God is in you, there’s Power, Faith, & Grace in you.
Ps 119: 89 – For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. – Jesus Died to Make Sure that you get to be who God Says you are. Ps 119: 89 – Says; it’s Settled in Heaven who you are. Whatever you are believing God for, keep still, Hold Fast Your Confession of Faith (Heb 10; 19), because The Word of God is ‘For ever…settled in heaven’ (Ps 119: 89).
Ps; 119: 103 (How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!) – Desire the Word of God daily. If we take in the decisions that God has Set before us about how we ought to live, it can be more satisfying than the sweetest taste we know on earth. Our soul is satisfied when we consume the true and righteous direction that God Sets before us.
Ps 119; 130 (The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. God’s Word is light – Good understanding of The Word of God will keep you from being deceived, by the devil & sometimes by human beings: when you get This Light into you, all your problems will disappear.
Proverbs 2; 1- My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
Proverbs 4; 20 – My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings: Pay attention to the WORD – keep your ears to hear God, even if your flesh doesn’t want to – make a quality decision to incline your ear to hear God
Matt 4: 4 – (But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God): The Word of God from Which Faith Cometh is Food for the spirit man, the same way bread is for the body. Develop your Faith and use It. The word is our greatest Weapon against satan – spend time speaking Word of God out of your mouth – God’s Word Has Power and so you have to be speaking WORD. Your mouth is a dangerous weapon against the kingdom on darkness.
The psalmist highlights two important things Bible reading does for you:
(1) It shows you your spiritual condition. In Bible times there were no paved roads, so when guests entered a house, they paused to wash the sand, dirt, and grime from their feet. That’s what Bible Reading does. David said, ‘How can a young man [and an older one] cleanse his way? By taking heed according to your word’ (Psalm 119:9 NKJV).
(2) God’s Word Shows you the direction you need to go. ‘Your word is…a light to my path’ (Psalm 119:105 NKJV). When you’re faced with an important decision and you don’t know which way to go, God will Guide you through with His Word. David, who loved God’s Word and meditated on the Word constantly, prayed, ‘Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness’ (Psalm 143:10 NKJV).
Many of the mistakes we make could be prevented if we stopped long enough to seek God’s Guidance. He Knows what lies ahead; we don’t. So ‘ Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass’. (Psalm 37:5 NKJV). Just like children need to be taught to cultivate a taste for healthy food instead of junk food, you need to cultivate a taste for God’s Word. The psalmist said, ‘I will delight myself in your commandments, which I love’ (Psalm 119:47 NKJV). ‘Your word is very pure; therefore your servant loves it’ (Psalm 119:140 NKJV).
Today ask God to give you a love for His Word. That’s a prayer He will Answer!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
