CLOSER THAN YOU THINK

Isaiah 54:17    No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD

Life has a way of bringing us face-to-face with moments we never expected. A difficult diagnosis, a broken relationship, financial uncertainty, unanswered prayers, or a season of deep loneliness can leave us wondering where God is in the middle of it all. When circumstances seem overwhelming and the world no longer makes sense, one truth remains unchanged:

THE LORD IS STILL CLOSE.

One of the most comforting themes throughout Scripture is God’s unwavering presence with His people during their hardest moments. Again and again, we see Him stepping into impossible situations. He parted the sea and rescued His people when escape seemed impossible. He gave courage and victory when His people faced overwhelming opposition. He protected and sustained them through trials, uncertainty, and seasons of rebuilding.

Isaiah 54 was spoken to a people who were hurting. They had experienced loss, disappointment, and exile. Yet in the midst of their pain, God reminded them that they were not forgotten. His heart was filled with compassion for them, and He assured them that their suffering would not define their future.

WHAT A POWERFUL REMINDER FOR US TODAY.

God never promises a life free from challenges, but He does promise His presence through them. He does not walk away when life becomes difficult. He does not grow weary of our questions, fears, or tears. When we feel weak, He remains strong. When we feel abandoned, He remains nearby. When we cannot see a way forward, He continues working behind the scenes on our behalf.

Sometimes God’s presence is not revealed through dramatic miracles, but through the quiet strength He provides to keep moving forward. It is found in unexpected peace during chaos, hope that refuses to disappear, and the assurance that we are being held even when life feels uncertain.

Perhaps today you are carrying a burden that feels too heavy to bear. Maybe anxiety is clouding your thoughts, or disappointment is weighing heavily on your heart. Instead of carrying it alone, bring it to God. Spend a few quiet moments in His presence. Tell Him honestly what is troubling you. Release your worries into His hands and reflect on the ways He has already guided, protected, and provided for you.

You may not have all the answers today, but you can rest in this truth: God is closer than you think. His love surrounds you; His presence sustains you, and His faithfulness remains constant through every season. Even in your darkest moments, He has not left your side, and He never will. Amen.
