SUSTAINED BY THE HAND OF GOD

Isaiah 41:10 — “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Life can sometimes place us in situations where our own strength seems insufficient. There are moments when uncertainty becomes overwhelming, circumstances appear beyond our control, and the future seems difficult to predict. Yet, in those moments, God reminds us of a truth that can transform how we face life: we are not sustaining ourselves; God is sustaining us.

Isaiah 41:10 was spoken to people who had genuine reasons to feel afraid and uncertain. Yet God did not tell them to pretend that their difficulties did not exist. Instead, He gave them the assurance of His presence: “I am with thee.” His presence is the foundation of our confidence. We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we can know who holds us.

The hand of God represents His strength, care, protection, provision and deliverance. His hand can uphold us when we are too weak to stand on our own, guide us when we do not know which direction to take, and preserve us when circumstances threaten to overwhelm us. Many times, we only recognise how faithfully God has carried us when we look back and realise that what should have destroyed us did not have the final word.

Perhaps you are facing opposition, financial pressure, disappointment, uncertainty or a situation you cannot resolve yourself. You may even wonder how you will make it through another difficult season. Remember this: your future is not at the mercy of circumstances. God remains present in the middle of what you are facing.

Being sustained by God does not mean that we will never encounter difficult days. It means that difficult days cannot separate us from His care. When our strength diminishes, His strength remains. When our understanding reaches its limit, His wisdom does not. When we cannot see the way forward, He can still lead us one step at a time.

So, lift your eyes beyond the circumstances confronting you today. Do not allow fear to convince you that you are abandoned or forgotten. The God who has carried you this far has not suddenly stopped caring about you. His hand is still upon your life.

You may not have all the answers, but you have His presence. You may not control everything around you, but you can trust the One who does. You are held, helped and upheld by the hand of God. Therefore, face today with courage, walk forward with confidence, and rest in the assurance that the hand of God is stronger than anything that comes against you.
Amen.
