Matthew 5:2, 8, NKJV
“2. Then he began to teach them by saying: 8″Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”
Being pure in heart involves having a singleness of heart toward God. A pure heart has no hypocrisy, no guile, and no hidden motives. The pure heart is marked by transparency and an uncompromising desire to please God in all things. It is more than an external purity of behavior; it is an internal purity of soul.
The only way we can be truly pure in heart is to give our lives to Jesus and ask Him to Do the Cleansing Work, Psalm 51:10. God is the One Who Makes our hearts pure – by the Sacrifice of His Son and through His Sanctifying Work in our lives (see also 1 John 3:1-3).
When you allow yourself to be offended it keeps you from moving forward in your relationship with God – Anger a trap by the devil, to stop you from receiving THE BLESSING. Sometimes too you may get angry at somebody for something that he/she didn’t do for you, not only for something that he/she did to you. What have you achieved for being angry at somebody? You are dying inside of you with anger, but the people themselves do not know that you are angry at them but rather they are enjoying themselves.
The Prophet Jeremiah made an intriguing statement some time ago as follows: “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9). Despite the truth that the human heart is filled with evil schemes, there are faithful servants of God who have purposed to keep their hearts pure.
Ps 24: 4-5 – the pure in heart will receive The Blessing
Prov 4: 20 (Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life) – It is very important you keep your heart pure
Matt 6: 15 – But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.)
Mk 11: 25 – if we are going to hold unforgiveness then God Can’t Forgive us
Our Lord Jesus made it clear to His Disciples that: if they really wanted to see God in His Eternal Glory and in the radiance of His Splendor, they would have to be pure in heart. The life filled with evil, and corruption will never have a place in God’s kingdom. The heart referred here is the centre of our lives and our very being, our character. Our character defines our decisions and reactions to all issues of life.
God Wants us to know that, having a pure character is an important prerequisite to seeing Him in the fullness of His Glory. Only the pure in heart will see Jesus. Some of us, though called Christians, have dangerous hearts. Some of us devise evil in our hearts and wish for the downfall of innocent people. Some ‘Christians’ have very bad characters yet are confident that they will sit at the front seat in Heaven.
God Wants to assure us that a time is coming when our eyes will behold Him as He Truly is. However, only those with pure hearts will see Him. God Wants to Spend eternity with you; that is why He is informing you of these truths. Be not deceived, no one with a corrupt and sinful character will see God. Blessed is the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Prayer
